You may think – “Are magnets safe for my phone?”
We use special mechanism that allows MAGMUG attach to any metal surface. It consists of a special hinge and magnets. Although you might think that these magnets may be damaging to your device, it isn’t so.
See, it all depends on the size and the strength of the magnet. Generally, small magnets are harmless to modern tech. It takes much larger and stronger magnets than the ones that we use to damage a phone or any electric appliances.
Furthermore, we use so called u-channel magnets that are shielded off (and have a much weaker magnetic pull) on all sides except one they are facing.
The phone on which you are (most likely) reading this has quite a few magnets too!
Average phone has around 10 small magnets in it. Mostly we are talking speakers and receivers.
MAGMUG is not the first product to make use of magnets and phones together.
Take, for example, magnetic car mounts. When used as instructed, they don’t ruin your phone, even though they are attached directly to your phone, and neither will MAGMUG.
Here is another device – Apple’s Magsafe Wallet*. You put your cards into this wallet and magnetically attach it to the back of an iPhone. Neither your phone, nor your cards get damaged.
*we are not sponsored by Apple 🙂
So just to summarize, small magnets like the ones used in MAGMUG, or other consumer products will not damage your phone or other tech if used properly and exercising common sense.
